Roofing Services & Contractors in Springfield, Virginia

Admitted to the Union in the year 1788, Virginia is the 10th state of the United States. It is home to roughly 8,654,542 people, and ranks as the 35th largest state, occupying an area of 110,785.67 km2. Lying right on the east coast of the country, the state's weather is milder than the rest of its fellow New England states. The southern part of the state faces a humid subtropical climate, with humid summers and cool to mild winters. The mountainous areas, on the other hand either enjoy an oceanic climate (having mild summers and cool winters), and humid continental climate (having warmer summers and freezing winters). Tornadoes, tropical storms and winter storms tend to be common here.

This state is known for its famous Virginian traditional architecture, which is of course present with older homes. But even new homes are built in this style due to the high demand for the unique curb appeal it offers. Such homes use one of four major systems. First comes the 'Craftsman,' which has a low-pitched roofline with multiple overhangs. Their entry porches are covered and column-supported, and typically use wooden shakes or shingles. Then comes the ‘Cape Cod’ - which have steep rooflines, dormer windows and side gables. 'Colonial Revival' homes typically use asphalt shingles and are known for their prominent paired windows and shining sidelights. And finally, 'Ranch' roofing systems, which have almost-flat, low roofs and earthy color schemes.
