Roofing Services & Contractors in Rock Hill, South Carolina

Admitted to the Union in the year 1788, South Carolina is the 8th state of the United States. It is home to roughly 5,124,712 people, and ranks as the 40th largest state, occupying an area of 82,932 km2. The state largely enjoys a humid subtropical climate, with long periods of hot and humid summers. The only exception being the area in and around the Blue Ridge Mountains, which has an Oceanic Climate with mild summers and cool winters. It is one of the few states that sees a number of sunshine days (216 annually) higher than the national average (205 per year). It is also one of the few states to have a distinct four-season weather - which includes spring (March-May), summer (June-September), fall (September-November) and spring Winter (December-February).

Having a relatively even weather means that South Carolina homeowners can choose between a variety of materials and designs. Moreover, as the state has a number of vintage homes, several materials and designs (such as thatch or ornamental metal) that are otherwise less in use are actually popular here. Commonly-used materials include slate, clay, asphalt, cedar, and even plywood, while common designs include gable, hip, and occasionally, flat roofs. These days, new homeowners have been seen opting for more greener solutions, however, such as garden-on-flat-roofs, green shingles and controlled vegetation roofs.
